Sun Fast 39

Sun Fast 39

Jacques Fauroux, helmsman, tactician, yacht designer, and seven times World Champion, has put all his skill and experience into the design of the Sun Fast 39. The impeccable pedigree of this powerful, high performance yacht stems directly from Fauroux's many successes in major European regattas. The purity of the hull lines attest to some of the fastest boats racing today. Jeanneau's wealth of experience in designing and building custom race boats and radical one-off multihulls has contributed greatly to the construction layout and choice of materials for the Sun Fast 39. This is a boat for those who really appreciate the excitement and exhilaration of top level performance sailing. Elegant lines and perfect proportions give the Sun Fast 39 the promise of sensational performance. The sweeping, uninterrupted deck profile conceals a typical Jeanneau innovation à coachroof handrails recessed into channels in the moulding. As well a refining the appearance, this imaginative feature means there's less risk of tripping up when moving around on deck. Recessed chainplates and ventilators covered by stainless steel domes are further evidence of the detailed attention to safety on deck. Profiled aluminium ports and the new red and gold hull stripes give the immediate impression of a boat with considerable potential. Rigging, all of the highest quality, has been deliberately over-specified to ensure a wide margin of safety. A large, powerful sail area gives the Sun Fast 39 the instant response and rapid acceleration that's essential in gaining those vital seconds in race manoeuvres.- qualities that can be enhanced still further by choosing the optional lead keel.
Teak surfaces lend a touch luxury and safety to the cockpit, with four large lockers providing ample space for stowage of sails and racing gear. Wheel steering gives just the right amount of feel for precision control in all conditions.
Practically all sail trimming functions can all be carried out from the cockpit, unobstructed by mainsheet or main track which are positioned on the coachroof. Engine controls are conveniently sited close to the helmsman and well protected from the elements.
And just to remind you that sailing is as much about having fun as winning races, there's a splendid bathing platform built into the transom.
The Sun Fast philosophy of sporting excellence is reflected in the interior design, where Andrew Winch has created a harmony of space and colour that makes the Sun Fast 39 as much of a pleasure to be aboard as it is to sail. Considering that she is designed primarily for performance, the Sun Fast 39 boasts interior fittings and furnishings of an exceptional standard. Three double cabins all have good standing area, a comfortable upholstered seat, and plenty of stowage and hanging space. The two aft cabins are mirror images of each other. Both have spacious, fully fitted shower/wcs with doors leading directly from the cabins as well as from the saloon.
Rich, solid teak and teak faced panelling is used throughout the interior to give a luxurious, warm feeling. Curved solid wood laminated trim adds to the quality feel, as well as being a useful safety feature when moving around below in heavy weather. Plenty of windows and hatches ensure an ample supply of daylight and fresh air, adding to the bright and spacious atmosphere created by Andrew Winch's new colour scheme and fabric designs.
A huge C-shaped settee is the main feature of the saloon area. Positioned on the port side, together with the main dining table, this layout has the advantage that it presents no restriction to free movement to and from the forecabin. The galley, immediately opposite the saloon dining area, is fully fitted with oven, hob, refrigerator and double sink, with pressurised hot water available as an option.
The combination of high performance sailing, and interior comforts of the finest quality, gives the SUN Fast 39 enormous appeal fir the interactive racing sailor who wants to best worlds.
