Press Sea Trials Deliver an Unforgettable Day on the Water

20 April 2026

THIS IS WHERE THE PURE PERFORMANCE PROVES ITSELF

On Thursday, April 2, Jeanneau, Beneteau, Wellcraft, and Four Winns welcomed leading marine journalists and industry voices for an immersive Press Sea Trial event, offering hands‑on time aboard a diverse lineup of powerboats and multihulls. While weather conditions were less than ideal, enthusiasm remained high throughout the day—proving once again that time on the water is what truly matters.

From the first engines starting in the morning to the final runs of the afternoon, the event delivered meaningful, real‑world experiences designed to showcase performance, handling, and onboard comfort across multiple categories.

A Strong Turnout from Marine Media

The event brought together an impressive group of respected journalists representing top marine publications, including:

  • Mike Longman, Jeff Margaritando, and Elio Betty – BoatUS Media
  • Todd Taylor – Powerboating, Les Plaisanciers & Center Console Life
  • Gordon Cruise – Center Console Life Magazine
  • John McEver, Kevin Falvey, and Alan Jones – Boating Magazine
  • Joe D’Onofrio and Tom Serio – On The Water Magazine
  • Marilyn DeMartini – Boats Group
  • Steve Davis – Southern Boating
  • James Anderson and Ian Sneed – Southern Boating & Yachting
  • Laura Unsell – Southeast Scuttlebutt

The press arrived eager to test boats in real conditions, ask in‑depth questions, and push each model through structured, time‑based sea trial runs.

A Full Day of On‑Water Testing

Following a light breakfast and briefing, the first sea trial run kicked off promptly at 9:00 AM, with four scheduled run windows throughout the day to accommodate detailed testing and rotation among models.

Despite variable weather, all sea trials were completed as scheduled—reinforcing confidence in both the boats and the teams supporting them.

Boats on the Water Included:

  • Jeanneau TH38
  • Jeanneau TH33
  • Jeanneau 9.0 CC
  • Wellcraft 28 T‑Top
  • Wellcraft 243 Fisherman
  • Beneteau Antares 12 Coupé
  • Four Winns HD2

Each run offered press the opportunity to evaluate handling, acceleration, ride comfort, layout, and overall usability in less‑than‑perfect conditions—an environment many journalists appreciated for providing a more honest, real‑world perspective.

As several attendees noted, challenging weather can often be the best test of a boat’s true capabilities.

Seamless Execution Thanks to a Strong Team

Behind the scenes, the event was executed by a dedicated and collaborative team, including:

Carolina Manzanera, Niccolò, Nick, Pierre, Ben C., Michael, and Alexis, whose coordination ensured smooth transitions between runs, clear communication with the press, and a welcoming on‑site experience throughout the day.

Boats location and logistics, including move‑in and move‑out, were handled efficiently with support from InterMarine, ensuring every model was ready for the water and on schedule.

Special Thanks to Our Sponsor

The day was further supported by James Mitchell, Sales & Marketing Director at Spectrum Color / Boatbroke.com, whose sponsorship contributed to the success of the event and reinforced the collaborative spirit between marine brands and industry partners.

An Outstanding Day—Rain or Shine

While the weather did not fully cooperate, spirits remained high, conversations stayed lively, and the quality of time spent aboard the boats never wavered. The Press Sea Trial proved that great design, strong performance, and passionate people can overcome any forecast.

As engines shut down and the day wrapped with dinner plans underway, one thing was clear: the event delivered exactly what matters most—authentic on‑water experiences, meaningful press engagement, and lasting impressions.

Jeanneau and its partner brands look forward to building on this momentum and welcoming the marine press back on the water again very soon.
