ZANZIBAR VOYAGE #5

IN REAL TIME!

For several weeks, we have been sharing updates on the Jeanneau website and on social media from the voyage of Zanzibar and her family:  Laurent, Bérengère and their two children.

You can also follow their voyage in real time…

 AIS

With AIS, you can follow along in real time (or almost), plotting the locations of the famous Sun Shine 36.

AIS (Automatic Identification System), an automated system that exchanges information between vessels via radio, allows other vessels and monitoring authorities to identify, classify and receive exact location and course information.

You can track their adventures via AIS (MMSI : 227 296 450).

Tracking information can be found on two principal websites, Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder.

Note:  AIS is a line-of-sight system and only works when vessels are relatively close to shore.  When over 30 nautical miles from the coast, the signal can be too weak to be received.
