Jeanneau Sun Fast 3200 Races into Annapolis

Annapolis, MD –

The new Jeanneau Sun Fast 3200 has arrived in Annapolis and is ready to show and sail. An inaugural test sail that verified the potential of this new design was recently completed in Annapolis with a team from Quantum Sails.

After a summer of victories for the internationally acclaimed Jeanneau Sun Fast 3200 in Norway, France and Russia, the first Sun Fast 3200 recently arrived in Annapolis, MD for its North American introduction at the upcoming US Sailboat Show.  Jeanneau America President, Paul Fenn, and his staff were on hand to put the boat through its paces.

Developed for racing offshore by short-handed crews, the Sun Fast 3200 recently took 2nd place in the first leg of the double-handed Transquadra race from Saint Nazaire, France to Madere off the coast of Portugal. After 7 days of non-stop racing, the second boat to cross the line out of 85 boats in total, was the Jeanneau Sun Fast 3200 skippered by former Jeanneau CEO, Jean-Francois de Premorel. What’s more, the next 4 boats to finish were also Sun Fast 3200’s. Chosen as the 2008 “European Yacht of the Year”, this fully infusion molded racing boat represents Jeanneau's commitment to technologically advanced building techniques and to the competitive side of sailing.

“The Sun Fast 3200 is an amazingly stable and simple boat to sail” said Jeanneau America President, Paul Fenn. “Even with 18 knots of apparent wind and the lee rail in the water, the Sun Fast 3200 was a dream to sail due to its sensible sail plan and twin rudder design.” “It’s the perfect boat for racing point to point such as the Chicago to Mackinac race or the Annapolis to Newport race” Fenn said.

The official North American debut for the Sun Fast 3200 will be at the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis, October 9 thru 13. The boat will then be available for media and client test sails after the show.
